My family's peer pressure

There has been ongoing discourse in the Peterson family for sometime now regarding the this annoying Peterson blog. "You have to join the blog" they say. I get continually persecuited at family gatherings, holidays, and espeacially at the dinner table when I ask a most appropriate "what's new" or worse, if I overhear some statement regarding an event in someone's life and say ignorantly "you got a new car" with that 'question' sort of tone (you know, the type one has when they are innocently showing interest and validating new information).

I quickly find myself cornered by glares and the suffocated by the hush created by my (what I thought was innocent) statment. "You need to join the blog Katie. If you had just joined the blog, you would already know this. How silly of me. How inconsiderate. But I just keep resisting. Blogging is for loosers. For sissys, for those who don't have more important things to do like immerse themselves in the die hard culture of being a ski bumb or a pseudo granola! And then it happens. I find my self too tired to fight the strong current of peer pressure any longer. I find my self intrigued and laughing at the stories my sister in laws tell me they are writting on the blog and then helplessly suckered in by the sentiment of my family's daily ongoings.

Must...not...blog. "What's the address?" I say (This can't be happening. They most certainly have slipped something into my drink.) "Brandon, do you have your phone? Can I borrow it?" (What in Gods green earth has gotten into me?! I've officially fallen off the horse!)

And so here I am. Blogging. Let the games begin you Peterson "peer presurer's"!! Enough with the shameless bantering, nagging or persecution. I've joined your cult. Move this missionary service to Preston. Go with God, my dear family. Take this good word to him and convert him also to the electronic family connectedness.
